Adhere to building code: President Bhandari

7 th Kathmandu : President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed the need for government sector relating to the building construction to abide by country’s law and building code while granting permission to build houses and structures.

Inaugurating the 6th Property Expo-2073 organised by Nepal Land and Housing Developer’s Association, President Bhandari also urged the concerned authorities to heed on land, weather and climate of the country, as it is at the high risk of earthquake.
The President also suggested using locally available materials and technology in building housing.

Likewise, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli viewed that priorities should be given to build earthquake resilient and environment friendly houses and structures while carrying out real estate business.

Also on the occasion, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi viewed that all political parties and groups should come together for economic prosperity of the country while stating that the Ministry has legitimized the real estate business.

Saying there is more than Rs 200 billion in real estate sector, the Association President Iccharaj Tamang demanded that a new policy should be brought to manage this sector. The Expo has 120 stalls showcasing materials used to build earthquake-resilient houses and structures. RSS
